CONVERSION CAMPAIGNS: GET YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER TO TAKE ACTION

Facebook and Instagram ads are hard when you're first starting out. But you have to train your Pixel somehow. And the best way to do this is by having people take action.

The action can be one of two things: sign-up for a freebie or buy a product off the ad. Every time someone takes action directly from the ad, the algorithm starts figuring out the type of person it should keep showing your ads to.

Watch the video below to learn how to set-up a conversions campaign.

Something I forgot to mention in the video, is that you have to tell Facebook what conversion you want them to optimize for. You saw on the video (min 1:55) that I optimized for purchase. That's the conversion I want to get. Facebook is going to go look for people who have purchased from an ad before, or those who are most likely to purchase.

You can set up to optimize for other things like:

Watch this video by Social Media Examiner to learn how to set your conversion events (min 4:45).

Setting up conversion events can be very techy and it will vary depending on which software you're using (Thrivecart, Click Funnels, Samcart, etc.). I had to hop on a chat with a Facebook rep a few times to make sure everything was correct.

WHY CONVERSION ADS?

Because they work! When you want someone to take action, you need to be running a conversion ad.

80% of the ads that I run are set to conversion. Yes, they're more expensive. That's why I recommend you are either selling something directly in the ad or have a funnel behind it.

The funnel can be a combination of a bump offer and an upsell or an email sequence. Below, in an example of my best converting funnel.

It goes like this: $27 product ⟶ $7 bump ⟶ $20 upsell = $54 sale

Running a conversion ad without a paid offer isn't worth it, in my opinion.
